Who We Are
Community & Youth Development Initiatives (CYDI) is a registered non-governmental organisation founded on the principle that true development is self-development.
Established on 1 July 2001 in Owerri, Imo State, CYDI was created in response to the 1999 National HIV/Syphilis Sero-prevalence Sentinel Survey. From the beginning, our focus has remained clear: to support young people (10–24 years) and their guardians to overcome the health, social and developmental challenges that threaten their safety and future.
While our Head Office is located in Owerri, Imo State, CYDI actively works across the five South East States of Nigeria — Abia, Anambra, Ebonyi, Enugu and Imo — delivering impactful programmes that protect and empower young people.
