Call for Consultant: Web Design and Development

According to a publication on https://www.premiumtimesng.com on February 27, 2019, after the 2019 presidential election, Nigeria recorded 1,289,607 void votes nationwide. This trend, according to political analysts, means that Nigerian voters are getting less educated in the balloting system, hence the need for more voter education in the country. Also, in discussion with People Living with disability in Imo State, they highlighted that they do not receive any form of Voters Education prior to the election period. Access to information about their pulling unit, how to vote and voting days is always a challenge for them. In a phone conversation with a Market woman leader, she expressed concern over access to information about electoral processes in the southeast pointing out that most of the materials displayed about elections are not written in local dilates and most market women find it difficult to read and comprehend.

To address these challenges, CYDI recognizes the need for external expertise, to be provided by the Consultant through funding support from International Foundation for Electoral Systems (IFES). It is expected that the Consultant will provide guidance for the design and implementation mechanism for the design and development of an innovative web-based platform. The innovative platform will be a technology that will be a website written in English and Igbo language and can be deployed to Android, and IOS Devices where high-quality educational content (animated videos, infographics, texts, quizzes, podcasts) about politics (electoral system, party organization, civic engagement), in a way that is easy and fun to learn.
