In commemoration of the 2023 16 Days of Activity to end Gender-Based Violence, Community & Youth Development Initiatives (CYDI), with support from the Youth Network for Community & Sustainable Development, has successfully organized an impactful 1-Day End of Term End SGBV Quiz competition. The event, conducted under the Youth Anti-FGM Reignite Mini-Grant Project Phase 2, occurred at Okohia Secondary School, Okohia in Isiala Mbano LGA.

The quiz competition featured enthusiastic participants, primarily trained School Peer Educators, who are tasked with conducting peer sessions with their fellow students both in school and at home. The competition showcased the knowledge and dedication of the participants, with Ohanwe Precious emerging as the winner, followed by Okorocha Success in second place and Benedict Paul securing the third position. The winners expressed their gratitude to the event’s funders and pledged to continue conducting peer sessions to eradicate all forms of SGBV in their community.

During the opening remarks, Mrs. Nancy, the Club Matron representing the School Principal, extended gratitude to CYDI for selecting Okohia Secondary School as a pilot beneficiary for the quiz competition. She assured CYDI of the school’s commitment to sustaining the project through the Peer Educators Club.
